SCHOLARSHIPS

All scholarships benefit women and use our mission statement as a guide, “A global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.”

Whitefish Soroptimist Memorial Scholarship for girls graduating High School:

Eligible students: Senior girls in Flathead County High Schools in 2025 planning to attend college or university. Criteria: financial need, academic ability and alignment with our mission statement.

Our mission statement is “A global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.”

Priority is given to girls planning to attend in-state programs.

Certificate Scholarships:

**Application Opening in August for the Fall Programs**

This scholarship is for women currently enrolled or considering enrolling in a program that provides a certificate instead of a degree. Examples of recent awardees include – cosmetology school, massage school, and other certification programs.

Applications will reviewed before each semester  — during the first week of December and by June 15th for the fall semester. 
Applicants may apply only once for this scholarship aid.   

Fellowship Scholarships:

Women in a “caring” profession are applying to or have already been accepted in a graduate or post- B.A. certificate program. Preference will be given to those whose majors align with our organization’s mission of working to improve the lives of women and their children. Applications will be accepted from October through December 1 each year. Recipients will each be awarded $1,000. Checks will be mailed by the first of the year to the college or university each woman is attending.

Whitefish Soroptimists College Scholarship Form for Women:

Eligible students: For women who received a scholarship from the Whitefish Soroptimist Club for their Freshman year and are now in their Sophomore year. These women will receive an email invitation asking them to reapply.

Preference will be given for those whose majors align with our organization’s mission. Eligible women need to send in recent transcripts from spring semester of ‘25 and these applications will be accepted from October through December 1 each year. Winners will each be awarded $1,500. Checks will be mailed by the first of the year to the college or university each winner is attending.
